Love from our parents…

I have had a conversation with a friend about her parents recently. My friend is a bright, passionate and spiritual person. She courageously quit her job and is prepared to follow her spiritual path. However, she is not very happy with her parents less than supportive attitude.

I fully understand her frustration - having grown up during a relatively affluent time, our experience and needs are naturally different from that of our parents, who have gone through much rougher time. Their priorities in life are thus very different - they want stable jobs, protective environments for themselves & their children… and they sometime pressurize their children to follow the “safe path” that they want.

Despite the difference and the apparent generation gap, it’s important for us to understand that our parents love us as much as they could, in the way that they know…having such an understanding would make our relationship with the parents much easier…love is there no matter what….

New Year…

It has been a while since my last post, as I have been traveling for almost a month, including a going for a pilgrimage and a retreat. I was so blessed to receive valuable teaching from a powerful spiritual leader (the one that I dreamt of a month ag0)…so many things have happened, so much thoughts have come into my mind, and so much reflection has been done… I really wanted to share but words escape me. Let’s just say, I am more and more committed in following my path and supporting the clients to achieve happiness in their lives.

With the Chinese New Year coming up, may I take this opportunity to wish all of my friends, family and clients very Best in Year of Ox - I hope all of them can stay positive despite the gloomy economic situation, knowing that happiness is the state of our mind which is totally dependent on our mind. External environment is merely the reflection of our minds…
